This once in a lifetime experience offers a unique photographic opportunity which I have been focused on for months.  I have decided on four different camera setups to photograph the Eclipse. On my D810 I am using Nikon’s internal filter holder and a piece of Thousand Oaks Optical filter material to capture the eclipse in extreme zoom with my Nikon 600mm f/4 lens.  I plan on tracing the path of the eclipse through the sky using an interval sequence on my D800E with a Marumi Solar Eclipse filter in front of a Nikon 24mm-70mm f/2.8 lens. For a landscape time-lapse sequence of the eclipse day, I will have an unfiltered Nikon 14mm-24mm f/2.8 lens on my D610.  I have learned that some of my best photos come unexpectedly, so I will have my D800 camera with me to capture whatever else happens.  My final choice of location will be made according to the weather and smoke forecasts, but I’ll be somewhere in the Lander, Wyoming area. You can follow my eclipse photography through my Instagram page and website. More locally in Lander, you can find my work at Wild Iris Mountain Sports and Mr. D’s. Like always I welcome any questions you may have pertaining to wildlife and nature photography, the Lander Wyoming area, and The Great American Eclipse.
